Privacy Policy

Last Update: 21st Oct, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Thomson Media Agency ("TMA," "we," "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit thomsonmediaagency.com, contact us, or work with us. We've tried to keep it plain and specific.

  1. Who we are

Thomson Media Agency is a web design and digital marketing agency serving businesses in Canada and internationally. For any privacy question or request, contact our privacy contact, Darin Thomson, at team@thomsonmediaagency.com.

  2. What we collect

    Information you give us

    • Contact form: your name, email, phone number, business name and website, and anything you write in your message
    • Calls and email: what you tell us when we speak or write to each other
    • Client work: logins, content, images and business details you share so we can build or run something for you

    Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our analytics and advertising tools record your device and browser type, IP address and approximate location, the pages you view and for how long, the site or ad that brought you here, and whether you submitted our contact form. Section 4 and our Cookie Policy explain these tools.
    Information from other sources
We may collect publicly available business information, such as a company's website, Google listing or directory entries, to research businesses we think we could help, and to contact them about our services. We also receive summary reports from Google and Meta about how our ads perform.

  3. How we use it

    • To reply to you and book your call
    • To deliver the services you hire us for
    • To understand how our website is used and improve it
    • To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited our site
    • To contact businesses about services that may be relevant to them, in line with anti-spam law
    • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

  4. Advertising and analytics

We use Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag, the Meta Pixel and [Microsoft Clarity] on our website. They help us see which pages and ads work, and let us show our ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited the site.
Google and Meta may combine this information with your accounts on their platforms, under their own privacy policies. When you submit our contact form, a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address may be shared with Meta so we can measure ad results; it can't be read back into your email.
You can opt out at any time; see section 9 and our Cookie Policy.

  5. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with:
    • Service providers that run parts of our business for us: Framer (website hosting and forms), Google (analytics, advertising, email), Meta (advertising), Calendly (call booking), and Notion (project management). They may only use it to provide their service, or as their own privacy policies describe for the advertising tools
    • Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others
    • A buyer or successor, if TMA is ever merged, sold or restructured; this policy would continue to apply

  6. Where your information is stored

Our team works from Canada and the United Arab Emirates, and most of our service providers store data in the United States or elsewhere. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country, where privacy laws can differ. We choose established providers with recognized security practices.

  7. How long we keep it

    • Enquiries that don't become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted
    • Client records: for the length of the project and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting laws require
    • Website analytics: according to each tool's retention settings, [14] months for Google Analytics

  8. Security

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including two-factor authentication on our accounts and access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach affecting you occurs, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires.

  9. Your choices

    • Emails: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to stop
    • Cookies: use our cookie banner, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings
    • Ads: opt out of interest-based ads at youradchoices.ca, and manage how Google and Meta use your data in your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences

  10. Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
    • Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
    • Correct anything that's wrong
    • Delete your information, unless we're required to keep it
    • Stop using it for marketing, or withdraw consent you've given

Email team@thomsonmediaagency.com. We'll confirm who you are and respond within 30 days.

  11. Region-specific information

    Canada

We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and we send commercial emails in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Quebec residents have additional rights under Quebec's privacy law; contact us to exercise them.
    European Union and United Kingdom

If you're in the EU or UK, we rely on these legal bases: your consent (for non-essential cookies), performing a contract with you, our legitimate interests (running and improving our website, and contacting businesses about relevant services), and legal obligations. You also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to data portability, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
    United Arab Emirates

We handle personal information in line with applicable UAE data protection law, and you can exercise the rights in section 10 by contacting us.

  12. Children

Our website and services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16; if you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

  13. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and show the new effective date at the top. For significant changes, we'll make that clear on the site.

Last Update: 21st Oct, 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar tools on thomsonmediaagency.com. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Pixels and tags are small pieces of code that do a similar job. Together they let a site remember your settings, count visits, and tell advertisers whether an ad led to a visit or an enquiry.

What we use

• Framer (essential): runs the website and forms, and remembers your cookie choice. Provided by Framer.

• Google Analytics (analytics): counts visits, pages viewed and where visitors came from. Provided by Google.

• Google Ads tag (advertising): measures whether people who clicked our Google ads contacted us. Provided by Google.

• Meta Pixel (advertising): measures our Facebook and Instagram ads, and lets us show ads to past visitors. Provided by Meta.

Your choices

• Our cookie banner appears on your first visit

• Your browser can block or delete cookies: see the settings in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge

• Interest-based ads: opt out at youradchoices.ca, or in your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences

• Google Analytics: install Google's opt-out browser add-on

Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working.
